2/10/10 Mitosis

We are beginning the Mitosis unit. Notes for the current unit, Mitosis , are available in several formats:

• 2 slides per page in color, large format for viewing
• 6 slides per page in black & white, for economical printing
• 3 slides per page in black & white with room for notes on one side.
• The entire PowerPoint presentation with media included and a viewer in compressed (approx 46MB) format.
• Link to a textbook for the current unit (approx 8 MB)that follows the course presented in class.
• Worksheets for the Mitosis unit. This worksheet must be completed for Feb 18, when we return from he break.

We did a lab activity where we created a mitosis flip book. This will be graded on Friday and should be brought to class throughout the unit.

On Thursday we will do a web based lab activity on mitosis in class. Students should complete the activity and email it for credit, following the instructions at the bottom of the worksheet.

Test: We will have a test on the immunity and mitosis units on Tuesday, 2/23. This will be changed to Wed. if there is a snow day between now and then.

Homework:

• Review the notes.
• Continue to enter data for the long term data collection project.
• The first February project is online. If you want extra credit, you will need to do this project. You are required to do one of the two projects, each month.
