3/22/10 Test & DNA

This week will include a teat on Tuesday. The test is on mitosis, meiosis and development.

Wednesday we will begin watching a movie, NOVA: The Secret of Photo 51, and finish it on Thursday.

On Thursday we will also do a DNA Origami lab activity. For copies of the template click on this link. For instructions on how to color it, click on this link. For instructions on how to fold it, click on this link.

We will continued the DNA unit. Notes for the unit, DNA , are available in several formats:

• 2 slides per page in color, large format for viewing
• 6 slides per page in black & white, for economical printing
• 3 slides per page in black & white with room for notes on one side.
  
• The entire PowerPoint presentation with media included and a viewer in compressed (approx 7 MB) format.
• Link to a textbook for the current unit (approx 7 MB)that follows the course presented in class.
• Worksheets for the DNA unit. This worksheet must be completed for Monday , March 29.

Homework:

• The completed. properly folded DNA origami is due on Monday 3/29.
  
• The Worksheets for the DNA unit must be completed for Monday , March 29.
• Review the notes.
• Continue to enter data for the long term data collection project.
• The Second March project is online. You are required to do one of the two projects, each month.
