12/21/09 Reflex lab

There is a makeup test available for the test we took on 12/17. To sign up you need to log onto the castlelearning.com website. You should look for the assignment "Makeup Dig - homeostasis". Students will have to log in with "averillpark.studentid" where studentid is their id number in 9 digit format, with leading zeros, if needed. The first time students log in they will be prompted to set up a password. Follow the instructions to enter a password.

You have until Sunday 12/27 to complete the makeup test. If you get an 80% or higher I will average the makeup and your original test for a grade. If you do not get at least 80% your original test score will stand. There is only a multiple choice part.

We continued on with the unit on the Nervous and Hormonal Systems. I expect to have a unit test on nervous & endocrine system the week of 1/11/09.

Then we did a lab on reflexes.

Notes for the current unit, Nervous and Hormonal Systems, are available in several formats:

• 2 slides per page in color, large format for viewing
• 6 slides per page in black & white, for economical printing
• 3 slides per page in black & white with room for notes on one side.
• The entire PowerPoint presentation with media included and a viewer in compressed (approx 79 MB) format.
• Link to a textbook for the current unit (approx 7.5 MB)that follows the course presented in class.
• Worksheets for the Nervous and Hormonal Regulation unit. This worksheet must be completed for Jan 4, 2010.
  

Homework:

• Review the notes.
• Begin writeup of lab report for the lab on reflexes. This lab is due on Wednesday 12/23.
• Begin the worksheets for the Nervous and Hormonal Regulation unit. Due Jan 4th.
