10/21/09 Enzyme Substrate Complex


Today we:
  • Took and reviewed a quiz. Students were allowed to use their notes and lab reports. Quiz is below. Students will take a quiz on similar material tomorrow, without notes.
    1.What subatomic particles make up an atom?
    2.What is the charge on these particles?
    3.What is the mass of each of these particles?
    4.What is an isotope?
    5.What kinds of atoms make up carbohydrates?
    6.What is the name of the process where small biomolecules are combined into larger ones?
  • Continued with notes from the current unit. We are talking about biomolecules: carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. The notes from the Atoms to Cells unit. Students should begin working on the notes for Atoms to Cells unit 5. The presentations notes are available as downloads: Two slides per page in color, 6 slides in black & white, for printing by clicking these links.   • Collected the lab reports.

Coming up:

  • We will finish notes from the The Atoms to Cells unit.
  • We will begin the Cells unit.
