10/29/09 Skin Cells Lab

Today we:
  • Took and reviewed a quiz
1. What is today’s lab about?

2. Describe the procedure to get the sample for today’s lab?

3. What is the mass of protons and electrons?

4. What is an isotope?

5. What is the name of the outer phospholipid bilayer of the cell?

6. According to modern cell theory, where do all cells come from?

  • Did a lab on microscopic examination of skin cells.
  • Continued with notes on the cells unit. Students should begin working on the notes for Cells unit 6. The presentations notes are available as downloads: Two slides per page in color, 6 slides in black & white, for printing by clicking these links. Coming up:

  • We will continue with notes on cells.
Test: There will be a unit test on Thursday, 11/5. The focus of the teat will be on material from the Atoms to Cells and Activity in the Cell units. Click these links to download the notes and review questions.

Homework:
  • For the red section the phylogenetic lab report is due, lab can be downloaded here. It will be collected on Friday.
  • Begin writing up the lab on Human Skin Cells.
  • Review the notes.
