10/22/09 Cells




Today we:
  • Took and reviewed a quiz. Quiz is below. Students will again take a quiz on similar material tomorrow, without notes.

1.What subatomic particles are in the nucleus?

2.What is the charge on protons and electrons?

3.What is the mass of protons and electrons?

4.What is an isotope?

5.What kinds of atoms make up a protein?

6.What is the name of the process where larger biomolecules are broken into small ones?

  • Finished the notes from the current unit. We are talking about biomolecules: carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. The notes from the Atoms to Cells unit. Students should begin working on the notes for Atoms to Cells unit 5. The presentations notes are available as downloads: Two slides per page in color, 6 slides in black & white, for printing by clicking these links. Coming up:

  • We will begin the Cells unit.
